Reflecting on last month’s Olympics, I am amazed that humans continue to find ways to break world records. You would think there is a finite limit to what our minds and bodies are capable of achieving. Yet people always seem to find a way. The answer of course lies in the things that happen invisibly, behind the scenes. Diet. Physical training. Mental conditioning. The unglamorous, day-to-day discipline that gives each winning performance the appearance of effortlessness. Something similar occurs in technology development. Everybody knows about Moore’s law for semiconductors. Intuitively, it seems there should eventually be a limit to how small or fast a chip can be. Yet, I have no doubt human ingenuity will somehow find a way.
Continuous upgrades to FundSys
Closer to home, we face this type of challenge when it comes to optimizing our FundSys software platform. You would think there’d be a limit to how much you can improve or refine the performance of a content and data management system. In fact, we think our particular industry niche is still in its infancy and there’s still plenty we can accomplish. That’s our focus: We work at it every day. We set specific goals and pursue them with discipline, behind the scenes, so that FundSys keeps getting better—incrementally—often without clients realizing it. Our technology and service model allows us to implement these upgrades in a way that is effortless and invisible to end-users. Some of these advances are ad hoc, as we respond to client requests. But we also have a long-term plan: the SySys technology roadmap. Right now we’re working on some major enhancements and we hope to have some exciting news to report in the near future.
Extending our clients’ look and feel
As more people interact with their investment managers online, it’s important that both the website’s functionality and the interface’s look, feel, and voice, reinforce your brand. At the end of last year, SySys accepted an assignment from one of the largest banks in North America to apply uniform design standards across all of their subsidiaries’ websites. We’re pleased to report that everything went smoothly—on time and under budget. The big deal here is that now our client presents itself to the entire market place with a uniform brand image. This puts each relationship with individual users on a solid footing, with an implicit promise of consistency, reliability and dependability.
SySys now has resources in the areas of graphic design, content and brand strategy that we can bring in as needed. We also continue to work with clients’ existing design resources, whether they are in-house or independent firms. We’re flexible, and committed to making your web presence as effective as possible.
Warm regards,
Andrew Christensen
